Spiruline 14m - The Spiruline remains the Spiruline.
We have upgraded the equipment such as adding a swivel on the handles, new neoprene handles, new graphic on the top of the wing to make is more visible. Risers will be at the same level when fully trimmed (to help the paragliding people J ). - The Spiruline is a very accessible Miniwing, pretty long brake travel with almost no roll, no pitch which make it easy to understand and to use. - The 14m is much different than the previous model, the performance, L/D ratio has been raised up to be at the same level than the 16 and 18.
So much fun we had when test flying and tuning-up the Spiruline 14 !No roll in straight flight, very accessible speed when foot launching, a very good flair and simple and precise overall handling. This Spiruline has been put in rough air, nil wind take-offs, flights in strong to very strong conditions,take-offs and landings at fully untrimmed speed !! It has also undergone flight tests of symetrical, asymetrical, full stall, spiral dive and all kinds of flight incident situations. Extremely satisfied we were to see that the name « Spiruline » was a good mix of adrenalin, efficiency.and well beeing. - It's a wing that, for its size, remains very accessible, all around and damped in all axis. The take-off is a laugh for any pilot. It is intended to a large experienced pilot class that will find speed, precision, with a bullet proof resistance, a precise glider that slices trough rough air without showing it. We cannot forget that the performances, thermal flying and top landings are still in the game for such a small wing. - The Spiruline 14 is the ideal wing to carve nice high speed turns amongst friends, soar in strong winds when most paraglider pilots are watching you and are waiting for the late afternoon wind to calm down. You can bring your Spiruline 14 everywhere since it's so tiny, and there will always be a good excuse to fly down instead of driving down the mountain. You have to keep in mind that 4 pilots, 4 Spirulines and a driver easily fits in any small car!!! - Put your goggles on and enjoy the ride! - The learning curve of the Spiruline 14 is identical as the Spiruline 16. It is done trough a standard course by a professional instructor that will provide a gradual learning process keeping in mind that you will be under a 14sqm instead of a standard size paraglider. For an experienced paragliding pilot or skydiver, a short briefing by a Little Coud ambassador will be proposed to you. As for the Spiruline 16 the all-up weight will have direct consequences on the wing behaviour. The speed, reactivity of the wing and its sink rate in turns will be increased. For an over all-up weight of a 100kg we would strongly suggest a Spiruline 16. - The behaviour of the Spiruline 14 has seduced us and we have decided to explore a bit further by developing a foot launchable Spiruline 12. But so far it is still in the team hands but seams very promising. To be followed....
The wing pack is :
- A wing 14 or 16 or 18m2
- A innerbag
- A backpack
- Instruction manual
- Risers+handles
Not included: seat, carabiner, rescue chute. (soon to come)

General advisory - At Little Cloud we are convinced that learning to fly on a speed wing is not more complicated than learning to fly a paraglider, we even think that it's easier. However you can't forget that the security of beginning this new kind of flight is more so based on the proper choice of the flying site and conditions passes before the choice of the equipment. - If at every flight you respect a certain coherency in the ensemble of the security process : material/conditions/physical and mental shape and thechnical level, you will improve your skills in total security and fly for a long time. - Of course we can fly with speed wings in stronger conditions than with a regular size paraglider. (higher wing load, short aspect ratio and damped pitch ). However, flying with these smaller wings have to be made with very active and adapted handling. Speed wings won't change the fact that strong contitions remain strong conditions and it won't change a beginner pilot to a professional pilot. - Flying with pleasure and safely has to remain the core of your activity.
